The 3rd edition of Globe International Silent Film Festival is going to be held from April 21 to 29. We are proud to announce that the GISFF 2018 is going to be held in the Wisconsin state of America, with the support of the oldest and largest university of the state; The University of Wisconsin-Madison.

It’s our pleasure to announce that this edition of the festival will be held by the cooperation of two active associations: “The Wisconsin Iranian Film Festival” and “Wisconsin Union Directorate” Film Committee.

Below is an introduction to our kind supporters.

The University of Wisconsin–Madison

The University of Wisconsin–Madison is a public research university in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. It was the first public university established in Wisconsin and remains the oldest and largest public university in the state.

Research, teaching, and service at the UW are influenced by a tradition known as “the Wisconsin Idea”, first articulated by UW–Madison President Charles Van Hise in 1904.  The Wisconsin Idea holds that the boundaries of the university should be the boundaries of the state and that the research conducted at UW–Madison should be applied to solve problems and improve health, quality of life, the environment, and agriculture for all citizens of the state. The Wisconsin Idea permeates the university’s work and helps forge close working relationships among university faculty and students, and the state’s industries and government. Based on Wisconsin’s populist history, the Wisconsin Idea continues to inspire the work of the faculty, staff, and students who aim to solve real-world problems by working together across disciplines and demographics.
